3 Parent Fails

What is my biggest parent fail moment? Well . . . my kids will never let me live it down; they never pass up the opportunity to tell the story of how I messed up their favorite lunch – homemade dumplings! We were all hungry by the time I loaded each bowl with piping hot stew and topped it off with a king-size, homemade fluffy dumpling. That lunch, however, the dumplings looked much better than they tasted. I had accidentally put baking soda in instead of baking powder, which gave them a rotten egg taste. Yucky! Needless to say, we decided to pitch the dumplings and walk down to the pizzeria.

Lesson #1: Baking powder and baking soda are NOT interchangeable.

“We left for the ballgame tonight and when I got to the school I had a text from this kid that said, ‘Where are you?’
It was then that I realized I forgot him. He walked home from my mother’s house and no one was home. He’s still mad at me.” -Colleen Hoover, Facebook

Lesson #2: Count your kids before leaving the house . . . well before leaving anywhere!

Lesson #3: Do I even need to say it? Always supervise children when coloring with markers!!!
