Christmas Critical-Thinking Logic Puzzles

November 28, 2016 By: athomeeducatorcomment

My daughters love working critical-thinking logic puzzles! Now that the holiday season is upon us, what better way to celebrate than with a set of Christmas-themed, critical thinking logic puzzles?

Why critical-thinking logic puzzles?

Rachel Mork listed several benefits in her article Benefits of Logic Puzzles for Kids.; they encourage children to develop and use logic & reasoning, principles of deduction, organizational skills, and the process of elimination to solve problems. Depending on puzzle content, working through a logic puzzle may activate prior knowledge or challenge children to research to acquire new knowledge that will help them find the correct solution.

Ways to use critical thinking logic puzzles in your homeschool or classroom?

There are many ways that these critical thinking logic puzzles can be utilized in your homeschool or classroom:

  1. Work through each puzzle as a class for a filler activity.
  2. Use the puzzles as extra credit sheets.
  3. Laminate the sheets and use them as a reading/math center activity. Students can write their answers using a dry eraser marker.

This product contains a set of five, Christmas-themed, critical thinking logic puzzles. It also includes instructions with a sample puzzle and solution and an answer key. I hope you and your students enjoy this activity as much as I enjoyed making it! They are available in my Teachers Pay Teachers store here or at Educents here.
